Alia Bhatt Early Life

 Alia was born on March 15, 1993, in Mumbai to actress Soni Razdan and film director Mahesh Bhatt. She has 2 half-siblings Rahul Bhatt & Pooja Bhatt and a real sister Shaheen. She received her earlier education at Mumbai in Jamnabai Narsee School. Her first ever role was in Preity Zinta and Akshay Kumar starrer Sangharsh(1999) where she played the younger version of Zinta. After completing school she wanted to join a Drama school but got busy working in Karan Johar's film. 

Alia Bhatt's Career 

Alia has enjoyed numerous commercial successes at the box office. Her actual Bollywood career started with Karan Johar's Student of the Year in 2012. The movie grossed ₹960 million and Alia surfaced as a potential bankable star. In 2014, she got critical acclaim with Imtiaz Ali's road film Highway. She won Filmfare Critics Award at Filmfare for her role in the film. She was also nominated for Filmfare's Best Actress. Similar success followed with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania grossing over ₹1 billion. In the same year, her movie '2 States', which is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel, released which got her both commercial success and critics' praise. The movie earned stellar ₹1.7 billion worldwide. She continued to flourish and establish her name in the industry with films like Dear Zindagi and Udta Punjab. Her future projects include Brahmastra, Gully Boy, and Raazi.

Awards and Achievements

She won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for Highway in 2014.
In 2016 too, she won Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in Highway.
In 2014 and 2017, she was featured on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list and Forbes Asia in their 30 Under 30 list respectively.
